Course in Emergency Management of Asthma in the Workplace

This course applies to a wide range of settings where emergencies involving asthma attacks may occur. It is relevant for people working in childcare, education, aged and community care, sport, tourism, hospitality, industry enterprises and other environments.

Duration:

1.5 hours classroom training and assessment (with online pre-work); or 3 hours classroom training and assessment

Course Content:

This course provides the skills and knowledge to be able to handle asthma emergency situations in the workplace.

It includes:

Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisite units for this course, though participants should have numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to level 2 of the National Reporting System.

An example of a NRS level 2 activity is requesting appropriate emergency assistance at the scene of an emergency asthma attack incident.

Assessment Methods:

Progressive assessment throughout the course, including demonstration of practical skills and written and oral questions relating to
underpinning knowledge.

Award Issued:

A nationally-recognised Statement of Attainment will be issued from our Training Partner – Business Wise First Aid Training RTO 45193 to all successful participants.
